Product Description
If you haven?t taken the Columbia Men?s Whirlibird Jacket for a spin, then you?re missing out. This classic Columbia parka has been around longer than most outdoor companies, and it just keeps getting better. Microtemp insulation, a zip-off storm hood, and Omni-Tech waterproof-breathable fabric protect you from bone-chilling temps and swirling snow. Wear the shell alone to deflect precipitation, the insulated liner when it?s cold and dry out, or put them together to form Columbia?s infamous 3-in-1 storm-battling combo.

5 out of 5 stars Gift for Husband   January 18, 2010
T. Lemmis (Burlington, KY USA)
I bought this for my husband. We recently moved from Florida to a colder climate. He had no jacket at all. He is 6'5 and to find even clothes for him let alone a jacket can be a chore. I found this jacket and we ordered it with our fingers crossed. It fit perfectly and keeps him warm. He loves it. I would definitely buy Columbia again.

3 out of 5 stars Looks great, works poorly   December 31, 2009

Really the title says it all. I selected this coat because it was attractive and made by a major brand. Really I figured I couldn't go wrong. Unfortunately, while the coat is attractive, it doesn't keep me warm. I have a small fleece jacket that easily keeps me warmer than this, even though it was intended to be little more than a windbreaker.

Also as a side note, today I cinched the hood for the second time only to find that one of the cinch cords was almost torn from it fastener. I did not pull it hard.

As a summary, this coat would be great for 30 - 40 degree weather. Doesn't do a thing for anything below 30.
