Very pleased!! March 31, 2007 29 out of 30 found this review helpful
The jacket arrived quickly and packaged well. It is just a "windbreaker" but a very nice one. It's not the heavy plastic kind crossing guards used to wear, but a very breathable and comfortable jacket. It has an inside, zippered pocket that is quite large, and adjustable cuffs. It seems to run a bit on the large side, but not so much that I would have needed to order a different size. It rolls up nice and small for traveling in your suitcase or backpack, and hardly weighs anything. It is just what I was looking for. Thanks!
Great Quality November 3, 2004 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
It's so hard to find lightweight jackets with comfort and class and this product definately has it all! I am very pleased and encourage anyone that is wondering about the quality, it is there!
Better than you can believe March 30, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Wow...I was SO thrilled to find Turfer products on Amazon...for really cheap!! This jacket is worth more than the $50 list price...you will really get your money's worth here. I was fortunate to discover their company about a dozen years ago: we bought our high school sports jackets from them. I STILL have that jacket and wear it Spring, Summer, and Autumn. From chilly post-winter mornings, to late evenings on the beach, to raking leaves, to leaving the gym w/o getting overheated OR a chill... it's THE perfect 3-season jacket. The material is wonderfully thin and not bulky, yet it somehow manages to break the wind, repel the rain, and breathe! The material washes incredibly well, too. My first "Anorak"-style jacket is white and has had everything from orange juice to backyard BBQ sauce spilled on it, not to mention grass stains from outdoor sports...and it keeps on coming clean wash after wash...no bleach...without showing wear! The (optional) teams' name printed on the back STILL looks crisp and the embroidery has yet to fray at all. All this being said, I saw this and just had to treat my husband to a new jacket this Spring. He goes through jackets pretty quickly, but I'm willing to bet this one will last for years. We got the jacket via UPS less than 48 hours after ordering and he's already wearing it outside. And, by the way, their customer service was top-notch when I emailed questioning sizes...they DO run big. They replied the same afternoon with the facts I needed to make an informed decision. If you enjoy or wear your jacket half as much as I have, you'll get your money's-worth.
Excellent Windbreaker August 2, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I was taking an Alaska Cruisetour and looking for something that would be warm, had a hood, would be light and easy to pack. I was also shopping at the last minute. They were out of the color I originally requested, but called me immediately, we changed colors and I had the item in my hands within a couple of days. It was perfect for what I needed! It was easy to carry and the hood was zipped inside the collar. I was very pleased with the product. It was a man's windbreaker, so I just ordered a medium and it fit perfectly. I would definitely buy from them again.
Great Jacket!! But Price Lowered After Ordering November 30, 2006 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I am a larger guy and needed a light windbreaker-type jacket with a hood that would also keep the rain off my head (that's Seattle for ya). Since none of the local stores had these in stock I searched Amazon and found this one. The jacket is of excellent quality and is better than I expected it to be. It breaks the wind extremely well, and if you really need to bundle up there are velcro strips on the sleeve openings, draw strings around the waist and snaps that go over the zipper. All in all this is an excellent wind breaker jacket. It won't keep you warm in very cold weather, but it is one of the best light jackets I've ever owned.
When I placed my order on November 16, 2006 I chose 'standard shipping' and was promised a shipping date of Nov. 20 to Nov. 27. I received the item on Nov. 27. I can't say for sure whether I would have received it sooner had Thanksgiving day not fallen within that week, so I won't really complain about the receiving date.
My COMPLAINT with the order, however, is this: From the time I placed my order to the time I received the jacket, the advertised sale price DROPPED by 25 percent, $10.00. I ordered the jacket and paid $39.95 but by the time I got it, the price was $29.99. This didn't seem right to me. I've written to Turfer for a resolution but have not yet received one. If this is resolved favorably, I'll edit this review.
Except for the price dispute, I highly recommend this jacket if you need a light windbreaker type jacket. It will serve you very well. Just make sure that you get the right price!!
EDIT: Still no response from Turfer on the price change, but Amazon's stated policy is that prices and availability may change without notice, so I guess it's buyer beware. I notice that as of today the price on this item is still $29.99. I've been using it for 2 months now and I must say it's a fantastic lightweight jacket. I want to buy another one but I'm afraid the second I order it the price will drop to $19.99!!!
